World Rowing Championships: Day 2, heats

Today I sat down on a bench at about 500m gone. No tripod and my sniper breathing regulation is not what it once was, so the footage is a little wobbly at more than 40x magnification. This vantage point does however provide better coverage of the racing. The link below is the Canadian Women's 8 in their heat, I have also added the US Women's 8 heat, the Irish Lightweight 4x and the Irish Women's Lightweight 2x.

Bled

Arrived with boats on Tuesday lunchtime (apologies for poor quality picture, it's a still from video. camera arriving shortly). Weather is beautiful, 33 degrees and relatively windless. The trainers were finally taken out of the box and taken for a run round the lake. Got overtaken by a middle-aged woman.. will have to work on that. Cycled to Bohinj lake yesterday, hot but worth it for the swim in crystal clear waters. Returned to Bled to catch several crews paddling including the US women's 8:
